Auditor H Howat certifies the 1924 books and vouchers of the Municipality of Boulton balance with the ledger. Unpaid taxes amount to 14371.89, split between 1924 and prior years, with notices mailed to delinquents.
Reconciliations show bank balance and ledger balance figures as of December 31 1924 and March 12 1925. It lists deposits withdrawals January 1 to March 12 1925 and cash on hand against ledgers and synoptic cheque totals.
The statement lists cash on hand and in bank amounts, including 40 422 20 in U S T as of 31 December 1924. The document certifies the balances as correct and taken from the municipality's ledger, signed by H Howat C A as Auditor.
Bill Barry escaped serious injury after a near neck break on the racecourse when a slack wire at the winning post struck him. Football practice is progressing well with strong turnout. A Shellmouth versus Dropmore match is planned for next Saturday at 7 pm on Shellmouth ground. W A members attended Deanery meetings in Russell. The Mission Band hosted its Annual Garden Party in Mrs Hoopes garden raising over $7.00.
The Silver for U.F.M. holds a regular meeting at the school house on Monday June 8 at 7 pm. Members who bought seed oats locally are urged to attend along with those shipping hogs or cattle. A gathering in W McFarlane’s barn follows the Silverton picnic Thursday night.
Last Sunday services under the W M S were led by Mrs. J Crerar with reports from Mrs. Earle Keating and Mrs N A Robertson. A duet by L and M Carley followed. The Silverton meeting closed with prayer by Mrs D C Stewart and money raised went to the W M S. Strathford picnic set for June 11 and Silverton for June 3 with games and ings. Regular Sunday services next week include Sunday School at 2 15 p m and sermon at 3 p m.
June 7 message cites Galatians 2 6 11 5 18 about God showing no respect of persons. It calls for missionary collection funds and world leadership to send volunteers and equip efforts. The commentator notes steam and electricity connect distant nations and urges global betterment through gifts prayers and sympathy.
Trinity Sunday notices no morning service. Evensong at 7 p m. Sunday School now at 11 a m during summer. Children attend one service every other Sunday morning. Bell rings at 4 30 p m.

Inglis W M S met at Mrs. Harry Armstrong’s home on Wednesday May 20 with eight members and two visitors present. The meeting opened with prayer and scripture reading. Mrs. Grant read a paper on Who the women of the Orient expect the Christian women. The paper urged women to be an example to far lands and missionaries. The afternoon was spent making blocks for a quilt. The July meeting will finish the quilt. Mrs. A Buie was appointed delegate to the Presbyterial in Strathclair May 28. The June meeting will be at Mrs. Crawford’s. We hope for larger attendance.
On Empire Day the annual collection for the Children’s Aid Society reached its $15 goal. Last week’s grades top performers include Ruth Swain XI, Norris Beamish X, Gertie Buchanan IX, Mary Kernedy VIII, Verna McIntosh VII, Wilma Wilson VI, Rita Bell V, Wm Hill Vir. IV Maggie Mosorondon Will Michael.
Walter McKay 71, born in Zorra Ontario, died after long illness at his Russell residence. He moved west in 1881, lived in Silver Creek then Russell, served 39 years as Secretary Treasurer for Silver Creek Municipality, a highly esteemed local figure. Funeral Monday at his residence, burial in Russell cemetery. He leaves widow, four daughters, four sons, two sisters, two brothers, and several relatives.
St Cuthbert's Shellmouth announces a divine service on Trinity Sunday at 11 a.m. in the parish church. All worshippers invited to attend the morning observance and hymnody.
