Dedication of New St. Mary’s Church in Winnipeg

The St. Mary’s parish finalizes the long awaited church, with dedication Sunday at 4 p.m. and 6 o’clock mass to follow. Victor Deneka designed the building, begun in 1965 with Easter services in 1966, measuring 48 by 86 feet with full basement and 48 feet peak. Volunteers and youth supported the project under Father Michael Badel, aided by Mike Fadyshen and Andy Lapke, with UC Y group providing funds and catechism classes.
