Racing notes from the Russell Breeding Station report A M Pratt and H Barry attending the Birtle fair inspected foals by the stallion You need. They praised light class foals for quality and bone and predicted demand for heavy weight saddle and general purpose horses. Judge Dr Cox commended the station specials and sent a favorable letter to the Department of Agriculture. Barry rode York Lassie to win the Birtle Derby last Friday.
