Shellmouth Dam operation linked to artificial flooding effects
Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation found periods of incremental artificial flooding downstream of the Shellmouth Dam in 2014 and will compensate affected Assiniboine Valley landowners. The review covers crop losses, property damages, and business impacts with a provincial compensation program to be developed and guidelines for Shellmouth and related structures to be updated this fall.
