Local settlers arrive as Cast Township grows
A batch of settlers passed through Silver Creek on Saturday with stock and outfits and plan to settle in Cast Township. They praise the soil and express luck in finding homesteads here. A large crowd from Lockerby, Boulton, Russell, Mizmiska and nearby districts attended the day’s events, which included girls’ and boys’ races, three legged races, and a baseball game between Tumbell and Boulton, followed by football between Russell and Minnis ka with Russell winning 1 to 0.
