Rev Tindale Leads Knox United Church First Service
Rev Tindale conducted his first service at Knox United Church Sunday morning succeeding Rev G F Denyes who served as supply minister since Rev W D Zwicker left in April. Tindale with wife and 5 year old Bobie arrived last week living in the manse. They come to Russell from Rainy River Ontario formerly serving Pierson Manitoba and Coronach Saskatchewan. He will lead next Sunday's service then take a month long holiday.

Dunn Family Leads Way In Herefords
The 1957 Hereford show opened with 75 white-faced cattle. Watson Dunn won grand champion bull, junior champion, and reserve champion, while the Dunns also took reserve grand championship bull and five other firsts and placings. Evin and Vern Dunn, plus the Russell cattle farm, led a strong showing with ten animals in the ring and multiple top awards.

Town Council to Cooperate With Penicillin Treatment
Hassell Town Council in regular session on June 27 agreed to cooperate with penicillin treatment for rheumatic fever as outlined by the Department of Health and Public Welfare.
