Health authorities plan deal with MMA for rural Manitoba doctors
Manitoba health officials will negotiate a framework with the Manitoba Medical Association to pay area physicians 600 dollars per weekday and 900 dollars for weekend or holiday days. The proposal includes extended clinic hours in some communities and regional authorities will negotiate using the model as a starting point. Sandra Delorme, CEO of the Marquette Regional Health Authority, welcomes the plan as a step to attract and retain physicians in rural Manitoba. Hospitals with annual volumes above 10,000 are noted.
