Cariboo Road History of British Columbia's Gold Era
The Cariboo Road tale recalls Fraser Canyon fur trails, gold rush labor, and Royal Engineers building a 400 mile wagon road from Yale toward Boston Bar from 1861 to 1862. Chinese labor aided crews as Barkerville rose then declined, joining Canada in 1871 and inspiring today’s highway route.
