Should Main Street be mandatory vote on guidelines
Russell residents debated whether Main Street private design guidelines should be voluntary or mandatory at a June 20 consultation. Of 32 voters 28 favored voluntary conformance, four backed mandatory rules, with a second vote showing support for mandatory pedestrian upgrades on existing and new buildings. Citizens were invited to submit letters to the Russell Banner or town committee as council prepares recommendations.
