Brawls, suspensions ripple through Manitoba junior hockey races
MIHL action saw Southeast Blades players Bram and Melnick suspended five games and Jeff Sonnenberg suspended twice after a line brawl with Winkler Flyers. Coach Ray Neufeld also banned for three games as the league fined the Blades. Flyers avoided suspensions. The seven-team scramble for playoff spots intensifies as Swan Valley, Portage, Neepawa, OCN, Waywayseecappo, and Winnipeg divisions shape the race with key wins and losses. Aaron Lewadniuk named MJHL Player of the Week for four goals and four assists in four games as Winkler collected five of eight points.
