Agriculture Today notes weed prevalence in 1981 with wild oats in 50 percent of fields, wild buckwheat in 88 percent, and green foxtail in 48 percent. It stresses the need for weed control inputs averaging at least 10 dollars per acre, warns fertilizer alone can worsen weeds, and commends improved sampling quality by Manitoba soil testing lab director Ken McGill.
