Christmas Tree and Concert at Harrowby School House
A Christmas tree and concert took place December 23 at Harrowby school house under the Ladies' Aid of the Presbyterian church and the Ladies' Guild of Holy Trinity church. Miss Hunter supervised school children as Rev. Nelson C. Smith chaired and encouraged carols. A telegram from Santa Claus and Santa’s arrival delighted the children. Much credit goes to Mrs. Badham of Stockton for the tree and Mrs. Jones-Brewer for a box of toys, which greatly enhanced the event.

A Scotsman was denied entry to Australia for not speaking German. In U S cattle news, 3,000 range cattle were offered with Alberta steers leading Chicago markets at 11.50 per cwt the season high for grass fed stock. The top cattle weighed 1395 pounds each despite no prior grain feeding.
