Farewell to Shellmouth School teacher Mr John Thom

Friends, parents and scholars of Shellmouth School honored Mr John B Thom with a surprise farewell gathering at Mrs Bryants. He received a beautiful address and a purse. The Christmas tree entertainment featured vocal and instrumental music, magic lantern acts by Mr Wallace, and toy distribution, culminating in a lively social. Miss Sadie McLennan and others contributed, and Mr Thom was presented with a glove and handkerchief case by his pupils.
