In a January 1 1920 letter to The Banner editor C D Sparrow calls for a volunteer fire brigade and better fire fighting equipment after a recent town blaze. He argues a coordinated effort and timely water supply would save property, urging council action or citizen organization.
In Somerset England on Monday evening December 15 Miss Jessie Ellen Pope wed Mr. Robert Hunt at the War die home. The Rev Selkirk officiated in the drawing room with intimate family and friends present. The bride entered with Mr. W Wardle. groom's attendant was Ernest Pope and bride attended by Ethel Hunt. The gown featured white Jap silk and flesh georgette with a white embroidered net veil.

Council met December 17 1919 at Angusville with full attendance. Minutes adopted. Government aid approved for Rossburn Road work between sections 24 and 25. Hospital District board appointed Reave Phizacklea Councillor Dunn and John Crerar. Tax relief applications granted amounting to 640. Payments ordered totaling 1008.10 to C E Ferguson 20.00 to Boulton 66.75 to PTs TK TRC kiss 8.00 to J Hainstock 7.40 to others. Delegates named to Municipalities Conference including Ferguson and MekKay. Next meeting set for January Tuesday.
