Foxwarren winter events fill calendar with youth focus
The Foxwarren Arena hosts the March 24 Provincial Tournament for the Atom D Team with nine teams. On March 18 Figure Skating marks Disney's 100th anniversary. The Foxwarren Library reports 2011 3664 items circulated up from 3358 in 2010. Leisure Centre hosts Western Region Tournament on March 17 2012. Meals program served 2241 meals in 2011 with 413 delivered and 540 volunteer hours. Grade 6 at Birtle Elementary funded three wells through student fundraising. Family honors Bill Dayson with ski passes giveaway
In memory of Roblin resident Bill Dayson a longtime Asessippi director four season passes will be awarded in March. The cattle farmer who never skied until 1992 dedicated himself to active living and community, volunteering around the resort and promoting skiing for guests. Participants in events and programs at Asessippi will be eligible, with a draw March 16 and winners announced March 24 at the Super Pass barbeque.

Capturing Opportunities Awards Honor Manitoba Rural Leaders
The Capturing Opportunities Awards recognize Manitoba rural leaders in categories for Outstanding Community Leadership Rural Youth Achievement Economic Development Innovation and Innovation in Corporate and Community actions. Winners receive a $1000 donation and a glass award at the April 24 2012 banquet at the Keystone Centre Brandon nominations due by noon April 2 2012.
