Mackenzie Middle School releases guides under a new policy banning cell phones and music players in class with devices kept in lockers. Phones with cameras may not be used on school property. cameras allowed only under staff supervision during school activities.

About thirty people including officials, parents, teachers, and staff attended a Park West School Division pre budget meeting to review 2006 spending and the 2006/07 plan. Secretary Treasurer Gerald Puhach explained the mill rate would drop 0.99 to 19.05, but provincial reassessment raises actual taxes by 10.4 percent. The division expects a decline of 133.5 full time equivalent students, influencing budgeting decisions.
