The third meeting of Russell farmers seeking a Farmer's elevator was held in Mr. Kinnaird's office. Seventy three shares were subscribed, raised to eighty, aiming for one hundred shares to form a four thousand dollar capital. Directors named to liaise province wide and organize operations, with early summer construction planned. Immigrants and labor prospects noted. M. R. Adamson of the Department of Immigration will depart for the Old Country around March 1 to recruit farm hands for Manitoba and the North West Territories. Wages are 200 dollars with board and lodging. applicants must be 20 to 30, in good health, experienced with horses and farm work, and have stock care knowledge. Applications with 25 dollars for passage, deducted from wages, must reach by March 1. arrivals in Manitoba expected about June 15.
