On Dec 21 marking 20 years since his death a ceremony at the Russell Millennium Park cairn honored Cst Dennis Strongquill. Attendees included RCMP Chaplain and current and retired Russell Detachment members, the Mayor Bin Scarth, a retiring paramedic, legion reps, Manitoba West District Office, Dauphin Major Crimes Unit, and Braendle Bruce Funeral Home owner who supported post event activities since 2001. Sirins, Fort spoke of police sacrifice and duty, noting Strongquill’s routine traffic stop ended in the line of duty and praising service to the community.
