Esso Farm Fund Raises Over 475000 for Rural Communities
The Esso Farm Community Growth Fund collects over 475000 for Alberta Saskatchewan and Manitoba projects including sports facilities playgrounds and health and fire response services. From May to November customers fed funds via purchases at local Esso Associates with up to a penny per litre or fertilizer tonne donated. Cheques will be presented to many non profits in December 2004 and January 2005.

Christmas drives aid Food Connections with yearlong support
Amalgamating with Food Connections enables year round aid as Christmas fundraisers and donations from students parents and local groups boost the Food Connections effort. A Crazy Hat Day fundraiser collected $108 plus a mountain of canned goods while Figures a local fitness center offered sign up incentives for food donations. The Christmas Family Dance raised over a hundred donated items and about $300 in donations. IGA Hampers for Hope bagged goods at cost aiding the food bank year round. Community efforts through Public Health referrals extend help through Russell Hospital.

Parkland Grants Boost Tourism Projects Across Region
Parkland Community Futures Development Corporation and Parkland Tourism Association offer a tourism grant program with a $5,000 cap per project, matching funds and in kind support. Since 2001 they have totaling $43,500 for local initiatives, with 2004 recipients including Ste Amelie Ridge Sno-Riders Hope Inc and Camperville Beach Rehabilitation.
