Justice Minister Stuart Garson secured a decisive by election victory in Marquette with about half the electorate voting. Garson received 7415 votes to Mrs. Keating 2940, a 4409 vote margin. Russell region tallies favored Garson in most polls.

Huett to Represent Russell in Consols Curling Playoffs
In Winnipeg on Wednesday afternoon Huett earned the right to represent Russell Flen in the Consols playoff for the Curling club spot in the British Continental competition. Joe Cross R Meadows and Art Kinney joined Huett as part of the Russell challenge. Four local rinks competed. Westwood beat Burgess then Huett defeated Leifer, with Huett’s side prevailing in the final against Westwood. Playoffs proceed with strong competition.

Mrs. Adams long served Asessippi district with pioneering spirit and community care. Her belief in open doors, generous hospitality, and friendship marked a life among locals and newcomers alike. Interment occurred at Asessippi cemetery after a furlors service conducted by Rev. Dr. Rothwell on December 18. Pallbearers included Albert McKay Harry Armstrong Ernest Arvant Frank Clement Fraser McLennan and Fred Parmentier.
