Manitoba bonds up rates and New Year levee invites
Finance Minister Eric Stefanson announced higher annual interest rates for Manitoba Builder Bonds Series 1 and II at seven percent with monthly 6.78 percent, Hydro Bonds Series 4 at seven percent, and Series 3 at eight percent monthly rate. The message notes bonds have raised over $1.8 billion and paid more than $300 million in interest to Manitobans. All Manitobans are invited to the Lieutenant Governor's New Year's Levee on January 1 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Blue Room of the Legislative Building. Pembina MLA Donald Orchard says he will not seek re-election, citing desire for new challenges and support for Manitoba under Premier Filmon.
