Ontario family seeks $250000 for son's cancer treatment

Joanne McConkey appeals on Youcaring.com from a British Columbia hospital to raise funds for Kyle McConkey’s cancer treatment in Seattle. Donations soared from initial $7000 to nearly $270000 as coverage spread via GlobalTV CBC and local papers. A December trip to Seattle for an initial consult is planned with treatment expected to begin December 17 and last into January.

Gowns for Grads Dress Drive At University of Manitoba

Two recent graduates Amanda Clement and Dylan Flett joined the Praxis Program at the University of Manitoba to organize Gowns for Grads. Praxis collects dresses and accessories, hosts fashion events and runs a bake sale to support recipients at a final April event at the BBC Convention Centre. Donations are coordinated through Lisa Clement at Russell Chiropractic Centre via 204 03 3338.
