Route for the Highway by James H Gray
James H Gray argues the Trans Canada highway should maximize reach with minimal detour. He proposes a central prairie route from Winnipeg through Portage la Prairie, Yorkton, Rosetown, Drumheller, Calgary and Red Deer to Edmonton, emphasizing dry higher ground and reduced mileage. He notes current roads would be reused and stresses benefiting travelers to Regina Saskatoon Calgary Edmonton and Banff.

Three Rocky Mountain Routes Considered For Highway System
The text outlines three prairie routes through the Rockies via Calgary and Benff and the Big Bend Edmonton Jasper and Yellowhead pass and west of Lethbridge Crow's Nest Pass. The central route offers choice with limited extra mileage. If neither north nor south route is chosen, agitation to complete the other would double prairie paved highway mileage with little national gain.

Three may keep a secret if two are dead
A cryptic proverb notes that secrets survive only when most or all involved parties are removed. It suggests that with more participants, the risk of disclosure grows, implying silence is safest with fewer people aware of the matter.
