Garden club may shift focus to horticultural activities
Lois Wilson says the Russell Horticultural Society plans a garden club format to attract younger members. The group meets seven times a year and sponsors junior programs while maintaining flower beds around Civic Centre, Cenotaph, Russell Library, Peace and Millennium Parks, and the town sign. Members assist with plantings, weed checks, and seed exchanges, stressing gardening as fun and community work.
