Water Supply Study for Russell Manitoba Submits Findings

A Russell chamber report by H N Hainstock assesses groundwater options for a town of about 1,200. It finds shale underlies town wells, with limited seepage, and suggests sand and gravel deposits in glacial drift or the Assiniboine river valley as prospective sources. Recommendations include exploratory drilling of 2000 to 3000 dollars, testing the spring area, health analysis, and cross sections to locate nearer water. The study notes iron in spring water and compares local deposits to similar river valleys.
