Letter to the Editor on Manitoba Hydro and NDP spending
The writer attacks the Manitoba NDP for siphoning profits from Crown corporation Manitoba Hydro to fund spending. Hydro’s debt, drought impacts, and rising rates are cited as evidence the province loses competitiveness and residents will pay higher bills. The piece argues for lower taxes and less government control to build a vibrant economy.

Manitoba Hydro costs and rate hikes hit Manitoba rate payers
The author argues Manitoba Hydro finances were strained by government actions since 2002. They claim a $203 million dividend from Hydro masked ongoing charges, with rate increases from $1.60 to $3.35 per kWh and recurring rental fees and a growing guaranty debt. The piece links drought, PUB actions, and politics to higher bills for residents.
