Funeral service for Henry Albert Bell former Russell merchant was held Saturday at Fraser Funeral Chapel Brandon with interment at Brandon cemetery He died suddenly at 69 while attending a baseball game at Kinsmen stadium Born in Whitby Ontario he moved west to Emerson in 1895 then to Russell in 1908 to work for Smellie Bros Co In 1932 he started a grocery business later sold in 1945 He moved to Brandon in 1948 married Annie Clee in 1912 Survived by widow four daughters and several relatives Attending from Russell listed among mourners

Wing Commander C. H. Mussels of Montreal assumes command of 426 Transport Squadron the Thunderbirds to support United Nations air lift in the Pacific. The team plans a three month survey for Imperial Oil Co and will lodge in private homes while four modern house trailers are also available.
