Benefit for Father Bashutskyy draws crowds for fundraiser
Parishioners from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Russell organized a supper and dance to aid Father Volodymyr Bashutskyy, a 29 year old priest with kidney failure. About 150 attended dinner and 200 joined the dance, with funds aimed at transplant costs and donor tests for his father and brother from Ukraine. Proceeds will cover airfare, accommodations, testing, and recovery, as a community rally supports the church and families.
