Communities in Bloom Organizing for 2005
Russell hosts a summer drive for Communities in Bloom with plans to beautify the town. Residents are urged to paint houses plant gardens start new flower beds clean up yards front storefronts and recycle. A garage sale is set for April 23 2005 at Dale’s Clothing Store to raise funds for flowers and projects. Eldon Montgomery coordinates calls and donations and volunteers are sought for event scrapbook and sale help.

Regional Shuffleboard Tournament at Foxwarren Leisure Center
Foxwarren hosted a regional shuffleboard event with 13 teams from Foxwarren Hamiota Lenore Rivers and St Lazare in an eight round robin format Bert and Georgina Bollman of Rivers won first place Barb Wenitoway and Evie Simms were second on total points The top three finishers 3rd Alan Butler 4th Mac Butler and 5th Jean Grabaukas and Olive Semaniuk all had three wins and one loss Volunteers were thanked at a community day with Meadow Lea Hall entertainment and birthday wishes for multiple residents. Spring cleanup underway and local roads noted for frost boils Drive carefully.
