Marquette RHA poised to launch after board approves transfers
The Marquette Regional Health Authority plans to move forward after all eleven local health corporations joined the RHA at a February meeting. Chairman Robert Butenowsky notes the move will reduce overlapping services and free funds for additional area needs. The next step is forming four District Health Advisory Councils to advise and identify service gaps.

Flood liaison offices set up in Russell and four towns
The Natural Resources Department established four flood liaison offices in Melita Niverville Russell and Selkirk to inform rural residents about spring flood conditions. Liaison officers will answer questions and provide updates from the River Forecast Center and regional flood control engineers. Strathclair Credit Union Ltd. votes to allocate a patronage fund of 79633 at its March 24 annual meeting. In 1996 assets rose to nearly 22 million while deposits reached 20.9 million and loans stood at 19.6 million.
