Manitoba PUB approves 45 percent May rebate for vehicle premiums
The Public Utilities Board sided with Manitoba Public Insurance to award a 45 percent rebate of the 2009/10 vehicle premiums. The average May ratepayer will get about 450 dollars, totaling 320 million in returns, paid by May 31 after the audited 2010/11 financial state. The rebate stems from Ernst & Young actuarial review of the corporation's claims reserves and supports the Personal Injury Protection Plan goals of rate stability and protection for injured drivers.
