Donnie Dunn reports on the Rus sel Chamber of Commerce meeting held March 30 in Ray Elliots absence. Willie Brown chaired at 12 15 PM with 25 attendees and guests from Vanguard Credit Union and Conservative candidate Robert Sopuck. Minutes from Feb 23 Feb 8 and Mar 8 were approved. Updates cover grants for Beth Naylor Collection Asessippi Park land Tourism funding for Em ployment AdvantAGE program, committee to contact nonmembers, and 107 total members. Upcoming events include July 9 kart racing Aug 13 Grey Cup Tailgate Beef and Barley, plus Jazz Cafes Movie Nights and barbecues. A speaker Dr David Ivan will discuss small towns in fall. Ice Fishing Derby held in February drew 432 anglers. Planning for Library Beth Naylor Clothing Collection storage, Tourism Guide fall release, summer student, Open Farmgate Workshop in Rossburn in April. Fundraising includes Radio Talent Show April 28 and town wide auction. Floor for Olympic ice surface to begin around April 6.
