Agronomists warn rising use of anhydrous ammonia in Western Canada raises accident risk. The concentrated nitrogen fertilizer, now stored under pressure, can cause severe eye and skin burns, asphyxiation, or chemical burns if contact occurs. Protective gear and proper equipment are essential.
Harry C W Aylwin former publisher of The Rossburn Review died Saturday evening September 22 at Brandon General Hospital after a brief illness. He at times ran a commercial printing operation in Rossburn and lived in Brandon with wife Helen. He began at The Plumas Standard and purchased The Rossburn Review in 1954 then started Erickson News the same year. He authored From The Pages of The Past and From The Sunny Slopes of the Riding Mountains co ordinated Rossburn history work. He is survived by wife Helen son Dwight daughter Sandra Laurie and Audrey and three grandchildren. Funeral was September 25 at the Rossburn United Church.

Parkland 4-H Trailriders Achievement Day on September 15 featured a judge Linda Baker of Binscarth and a colt draw donated by Ernie and Marge Peleshok of Oakburn. Albert Zemianski of Oakburn won the colt. After lunch, families enjoyed novelty games and member participation in performances with horses.
