The Dominion government reports Canadian farm cash income for the first half of 1942 at 399.2 million dollars, up from 343.3 million in 1941 and 259.3 million in 1944, with Ontario benefiting most from mixed farming and market access. Western wheat reliance noted, with indications of higher income ahead for the latter half amid rising prices and increased output. In India, censorship shadows news of unrest as Churchill Cripps and Amery critics clash over policy and conciliation.
The Christian Science Monitor distills the Atlantic Charter into four aims for postwar life: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. Viscount Nickieam of Calgary and Hopewell and former Canadian Prime Minister Richard Edford Bennett will headline a Manitoba Division Red Cross luncheon at the Royal Alexandra Hotel Winnipeg. The event starts at 12 30 noon Tuesday September 29 with a radio broadcast from C J R C at 1 15 pm the same day.
