Garry Workman 18 of Solsgirth Manitoba wins a $750 Canadian National Exhibition scholarship toward an agriculture degree at the University of Manitoba. A longtime 4-H activist and president of the Birtle 4-H Calf Club, he will depart for Toronto Sunday to receive the prize. Margaret Jeffs of Foxwarren was named Manitoba winner but cannot accept.

Rossburn Hospital Plans New Wing and Rates
Rossburn hospital boards call for tenders on a new construction to begin soon. They adopt hospital association and provincial rates for X ray laboratory services with operating and delivery charges at full coverage except doctors fees. Discharge after 4 pm is charged unless under 24 hours. The addition will add maternity beds, children's beds, wards, nursery, labs, furnace, laundry and doctor suites. July and August admissions include four and seven newborns respectively.
