Rossburn Pool Elevator Assoc Annual Meeting
The Rossburn Pool Elevator Association held its annual meeting and banquet on Tuesday evening October 29 with large attendance. Bert Frieze received the Elevator Improvement Award. The meeting covered 234 900 bushels of grain handled, 118 carloads across wheat oats malting barley barley and flax, with 11 new members and a $4 864 12 year surplus yielding 2 07 cents per bushel and a remaining per bushel equity payment in MP E funds.

Rossburn Administrative Committee met October 24 1968 at 2 p m with A Cleland chairing in W Perchaluk absence. Attendants included J Mitchell J Corne L Hrysak J Lawless and S B Lewis administrator. Resolution approved minutes from Sept 16 1968. Budget matters and Manitoba Health Conference noted. Hospital to be renamed Rossburn District Hospital November 1 1968. Yard updates include six double plugs for employee cars and graveling plus three way bathroom switches in new addition. Meeting adjourned.

District Delegates To Attend Continuous Progress Institute
About 100 teachers principals and school administrators from Manitoba will attend a five day institute on continuous progress at McMaster House Winnipeg November 4 to 8. The Manitoba Teachers' Society in cooperation with the Department of Education sponsors the event chaired by Sister Joyce Richards. A bridal shower honoring Carol Gurnick bride elect of November 2 was held October 20 in Rossburn Town Hall. Guests included her mother Mrs. John Gurnick and aunt Miss Kay Hryciuk, with groom’s landlady Mrs. Tena Anderson and god-mother Mrs. Peter Sidlar present. The event featured corsages, a chair of honor, readings, costumes, gifts, lunch, and a chorus of Happy Shower. About 125 attendees enjoyed the program and gifts for the couple, escorted by Jon Klagenberg.
