Kostesky was elected school board trustee for Ward 7 of the Pelly Trail School Division last Wednesday defeating incumbent Len Goletz 171 to 125. Turnout was high with 455 of 455 eligible voters casting ballots on Oct. 23. She will serve a two year term beginning in November.
Rural Development Minister James Downey announced the Manitoba GROW Bond office in Altona will help communities form local rural development bond corporations. Bonds start at $100 with up to $50,000 or 10 percent of an issue, backed by the Province, and returns depend on approved local projects.
Brian White M.P. confirms $400,000 federal funding for the first year of a Community Futures Program Business Centre in Parkland Region. The centre aims to spur private sector growth, create permanent jobs, and provide business advice and investment access to new and existing firms. Services to be available soon.
