Playground project shapes up at Rossburn Elementary

The Rossburn Elementary School playground is being upgraded with an asphalt west-side pad, basketball posts, and backboards. Plans include rollerblading space, hopscotch lines, and four square games, funded by donations and a $3,000 Lotteries Foundation grant. a separate Playground Committee is proposed to oversee phased work over three to five years.

Rossburn Subdivision Trail Association forms with leaders named

The Rossburn Subdivision Trail Association announces an executive and sub-committees. Chair Len Lewandowsky Sandy Lake, Vice-Chair John Whitaker Clanwilliam, Treasurer Louis Kurchaba, Secretary Shirley Kalyniuk Rossburn. The non-profit group aims to build and maintain a recreational trail along the old CN rail line between Russell and Neepawa and seeks a charity number. It is part of the Manitoba Recreational Trails Association.

Accident claims one life in single vehicle rollover

One person died and another injured in a single vehicle rollover on Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. on Highway 6 six kilometres west of the destination. The Lumina van reportedly sped past a witness, lost control, crossed the wrong side and rolled onto the shoulder.
