PMU farmers honored in Manitoba for mare urine industry
Three Russell area PMU producers Harold Clement Roy Cusitar and C J magn were honored by the provincial government for developing Manitoba as a site for the owl plant that processes pregnant mare urine. Rural Development Minister Len Derkach credited the vision of Reg Forbes and the local producers for the industry’s growth since 1965 with annual sales now over 700 million dollars and rising as world population grows.
