Corneal transplants rise 32 percent in 85 86 year
Lions Eye Bank of Manitoba and Northwest Ontario reports 96 corneal transplants in 1985 86, up 32 percent from 73 the prior year. Eye donations grew 10 percent to 323 but offers declined remained high with 100 offers rejected. Sixty six Manitoba transplants occurred locally with 30 corneas sent out and ongoing wait lists totaling about 75 locally, with about 50 new additions yearly.
