Eight first year Brandon University students receive Canada Scholarships for 1993-94 during a Canada Scholars Night. Winners Cory Hrubeniuk Rossburn and others from Brandon and Cartwright were recognized with certificates and pins as Glen McKinnon MP represented the government.
The Brandon Westman Christmas Cheer Registry calls for donations of non perishable food, new unwrapped toys, knitted items and baby goods to provide meals and gifts for children and families in need this Christmas. James Roszell becomes Rossburn postmaster as he and his wife Bev move with son Grant to the Manitoba community. He has worked for Canada Post since 1975 in multiple towns and will be joined by Marion Kreshewski as assistant postmistress and June Koleski part time. Roszell collects pins, supports scouting, and praises Rossburn’s friendly welcome.
