Waywayseecappo Band appoints new chief in by election
In a by election held Monday November 6 Walter Mentuck won the chief’s seat with 93 votes after Leonard Wabash resigned for personal reasons. He defeats Bob Shingoose who got 75 and Sydney Longclaws with 67. Six council members are Murray Clearsky Lloyd Mecas Tim Cloud Raymond Brandon Henry Tanner and Morris Twovoice. The chief and council will serve until elections in February 1991.
