Local couple to open Rusty Smorg and Grill on Main Street
Russ and Carol Andrew plan to launch Rusty’s Smorg and Grill at the Main Street site after extensive renovations. The 60 seat eatery will offer a neon smorg week days with salad, soup and hot entrees, plus a weekend smorg brunch if feasible. The Andrews, new to running a sit down restaurant, will run the business as a family operation while building on their mobile kitchen background.

Vanguard Credit Union acquires the Angusville postal franchise and will run both financial services and postal operations from the current post office. Education funding changes in Manitoba announced by Derkach
Manitoba education funding will change with a two year phase in to limit tax impact on homeowners. Education Minister Len Derkach said the plan absorbs most implementation costs and will boost Half of the province’s divisions will gain more revenue with Birdtail River receiving 339656 and Pelly Trail 125445 additional funds. A two year phase in includes a one mill cut to the Education Support Levy and a subsidy to keep Special Levy mill rates under .75 mills in year one, costing 12 million. An overall 22.5 million implementa tion fund accompanies normal budget money.
