Oakburn and Strathclair Credit Unions Plan Amalgamation
Members of Oakburn and Strathclair Credit Unions voted to merge and form a stronger financial institution. The deal adds access to Strathclair services such as mutual funds and ATM features and expands Strathclair’s board to include Oakburn representation, with three locations for Strathclair members. Ron Hedley, Strathclair GM, says the merger expands service opportunities for all members.

Addiction Awareness Week Activities at Rossburn Schools
Rossburn Collegiate and Elementary School held Addiction Awareness Week from November 17 to 21. A speaker shared his addiction story and promoted positive lifestyles and healthy relationships. The T.AD.D. and Peer Helpers visited Shoal Lake School for Motivational Media. Carnations were sold for Hugs Not Drugs and a Friday Sock Hop was held at the Collegiate.

Rossburn council Eyes Two Physicians for Community Health
The Rossburn area explores hiring two physicians with a five year contract and a possible incentive of up to 30 000. An agreement of 24 000 will be shared among the RM the town and Rossburn Hospital Foundation Board if needed.

Man jailed six months after Foxwarren police chase
Aman, who led RCMP on a wild off road pursuit near Foxwarren on November 8, was sentenced in Brandon provincial court to six months. Judge Krystyna Tarwid warned the defendant with a history of property crimes to reflect in jail or risk return to crime. The vehicle was stolen from Saskatchewan, fugitives fled into a brush area, a police dog tracked them, and the pursuit included speeds up to 100 km/h before the vehicle damaged its undercarriage.
