Park construction drives $375,100 winter works plan
National Resources minister Walter Dinsdale announced a winter works program for Riding Mountain National Park totaling 375,100 with federal funding totaling nearly 4 million across 16 national parks and seven historic parks. The plan aims to provide full time winter employment for 135 men and includes building service buildings at Wasagaming campground and 25 miles of fire access roads. Work runs to March 31, 1961 and includes slope clearing along the central fire road and continued winter projects across the park network.

The Social Credit League of Manitoba held its two day convention at St Boniface College Auditorium in Winnipeg on Fri and Sat November 18 19. Premier Manning of Alberta spoke to about 400 urging national unity and a new way of life under Social Credit.
