R C I Girls Win Swan River Volleyball Tournament
The R C I girls capture the Swan River Collegiate Volleyball Tournament title by defeating Rivers in the finals two games to none. The R C I boys reach the finals but lose to Rivers two games to one, while earlier wins over Grandview The Pas and Flin Flon helped the team reach the final. Both squads advance to the Zone Tournament in Birtle on November 23 leading toward the Provincial finals in Rivers November 30 and December 1.

Canadian Bible Society Annual Collection in Rossburn
The Canadian Bible Society conducts its annual collection in the Rossburn area as part of a national branch of a world organization that distributes the Bible in over 150 countries. Workers translate Scriptures into local languages to allow readers to access the Word in their tongue, with Good News For Modern Man a popular new translation. The society also prepares Scripture selections for shut ins and hospital patients, and relies on donations from diverse backgrounds to fund its non denominational mission. Continued on Page Five.

Rossburn Figure Skating Club Holds First Meeting
The Rossburn Figure Skating Club opened the season with six attending mothers. They discussed fees day lessons and hired teacher Miss Judy Scotland. Rossburn Lions Plan Bingo Nights and Dental Clinic
Rossburn Lions Club held its October supper meeting at the Rossburn Hotel with strong attendance. The group organized five member teams for Wednesday bingo nights and discussed the upcoming Birthday Party on November 16. The Manor reported 12 leased units, ticket sales for the Snowmobile draw were reviewed, and CMIB canvassers from Rossburn Elementary School raised $155.33 for the club. A potential November Dental Clinic was noted and Jack Purdy, the dental director, sent a confirming letter. Bob Pritchard won the attendance draw.
