Rossburn Women’s Institute held its regular annex meeting on Tuesday. The group opened with O Canada and the Creed, elected routine business, and decided to hold the 11th Banquet for veterans on Monday Nov 11. Miss Dickin spoke on Xmas decor and parcel wrapping with demonstrations praised by all.

The Elphinstone school reports its 1968 69 student council with Allan Hrytsak as president Murray Black as vice president Dale Elichuk as treasurer Kathy Furman as secretary and Beth Morton Martha Zurbeck as social convenors Eugene Leganchuk boys sports rep Olive Baranyk girls sports rep. Three girls Beth Morton Ferna Wiebe Luellen Morton were chosen for the Pelly Trail Oratorical Contest in Elphinstone. A Halloween Dance on November 1 featured The Expedition to Earth. Girls won volleyball tournaments in Rossburn while boys finished behind. Rep Glennis Peech.

Rossburn Boys win first place and Girls finish second in divisional tournaments at Rossburn Collegiate Auditorium. Girls compete Friday November 15 at 4 30 p m in Rossburn, Boys travel to Virden Saturday November 16. Provincials follow Friday November 22.

The Rossburn Rural Municipality council met in the Rossburn Council Chambers on November 12 1968 with Reeve John Mitchell and councillors present. They adopted the October financial report, approved amendments to Prairie Farm Assistance Act applications for 1968 crop year, ordered debris removal from roads within 30 days, set the Court of Revision for December 19 1968, and authorized attendance at a Neepawa budgeting meeting. A $50 grant to Branch Lines Association of Manitoba was approved, predator control by M J Semochko CF NPF was authorized on request, hospital local committee members were reappointed for 1969 3 year terms, and bills totaling $42351 20 were approved for payment. Shower Honors Dona Miller at Vista Hall Bridal Shower
Dona Miller's bridal shower took place Friday at Vista Hall decorated for the event. Margaret Young greeted Dona at the door as corsages were pinned on her mother aunt and the groom's sisters. A Nurse's Aide dressed Bonnie Chegwin drew in a gift wagon while Dana thanked guests and everyone sang "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow" after lunch.

Treasurer reported Bazaar and Tea success. donation to the Bursary Fund approved. Members urged inviting non members. Quilt patches collected. December meeting at Joan Baker’s with Dorothy Armstrong leading devotional and an exchange of Xmas gifts. Lunch followed.
