Manitoba announces an immunization drive across 71 First Nations reserves including Birdtail Sioux Gambler Keeseekoowenin and Waywayseecappo. About 25 000 children and youth ages six months to 19 years will be inoculated to curb a rising meningococcal meningitis rate this year.
At the Oct 4 meeting the Pelly Trail School Division ratified collective agreements with the Manitoba Teachers Society Local for 1992 93 and 94 giving 2 percent increases in 92 2 percent in 93 and 21 percent in 94. Non teaching staff contracts matched and back pay to Jan 92 totals 199000. Board declined extra 1994 special funding while promising to use nominal surplus to offset costs.
