Manitoba recreational trails grow with Trans Canada link

The Manitoba Recreation Trail Association formed in 1993 to preserve and develop multi use trails across Manitoba. The group aims to inventory existing trails and abandoned rail lines to aid planning for the Manitoba portion of the Trans Canada Trail, while addressing safety environment and liability issues. A cross country relay began March 16 from Victoria to St Johns to mark the project with a Trans Canada Trail Day finale planned for June 3 in Winnipeg Assiniboine Park.
