Brewers And Hotelkeepers War Fund Surpasses Expectations
The Manitoba Brewers and Hotelkeepers War Fund, started September 1940, reports funds collected and distributed through December 1943. Five trustees oversee a non deductive operation funding Canada’s war effort, with Government Liquor Control Commission handling collections from 258 hotelkeepers and six breweries. The Provincial Exhibition opens July 3 to 7 with expanded livestock classes and $1000 added to cattle prizes. Livestock can arrive Tuesday and depart Thursday if needed.
